Manchester’s Spring Fashion Show 2012 – Wed 8th Feb at Pitcher & Piano

Tomorrow evening sees the return of Manchester’s Spring Fashion Show, which is to be held at the Pitcher & Piano on Deansgate Locks.  Proceeds from the show will be donated to Oxfam.

The following designers will be showing collections at the event, and competing to win the ‘Best Emerging Designer’ award:

With all group fashion shows you expect there to be some wheat and some chaff, and certainly there can be a fear at local shows that there may be no wheat.  However, it seems the organisers have selected their designers carefully, with both an eye for occasion as well as style.  I have had a look through all the designer profiles and I am absolutely sure that such a diverse show will absolutely be worth the very resonable ticket price of £9.

Thom Neal‘s menswear and shirting is certainly something I’m looking forward to, and Crystal Padmore‘s knitwear label ‘Coinside’ has an interesting sporty but rustic aesthetic that I am intrigued to see close up.  I hoping Kelly Bull will be representing the avant-garde, as her previous collections suggest, and that Lauren Wroe‘s cutting techniques are as beautiful as the single image I have seen promises!  I’m looking to Huxton, Rianna Phillips and one of the show organisers, Victoria Rosso,  for exciting prints.
